Learning with Legion Summer Reading ProgramLearning with Legion FC
Legion FC announces, ‘Learning with Legion’ Summer Reading Program in Partnership with the City of Birmingham’s Page Pals Reading Initiative and the Mayor’s Office.
As the end of the academic year approaches, Legion FC are excited to introduce a new initiative aimed at fostering a love for reading among students during the summer break. Through the initiative, Legion FC will engage with our local communities focused on generating visibility, awareness, and education on the importance of reading for all ages, specifically for K-5. Following in the footsteps of the City of Birmingham’s Page Pals Reading Initiative, Legion FC are connecting local government, local retailers, community centers, libraries, school systems, and other entities that will partner with and champions this initiative.
Kids in Kindergarten through 5th grade in and around the City of Birmingham have the opportunity to earn free tickets to Legion FC home games as they read throughout the summer. They will also be representing their school in a friendly competition for a chance to win a game out at Protective Stadium for their school’s leadership team. This school and those individuals will be honored at halftime.
For thresholds met of 100, 250, and 500 books read, those individuals will earn and qualify for a special prize benefit brought to the kids by program partners and Legion FC.
