BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Birmingham Legion FC announced on Wednesday that goalkeeper Jayden Hibbert has been recalled from his loan, effective immediately, and has returned to his parent club, Atlanta United FC.
Having joined Legion FC on loan in June following an injury to Matt Van Oekel, the 19-year-old Jamaican international immediately stepped into a large role in Birmingham, logging a start in all four of his appearances with the club. In his 344 minutes played, Hibbert posted a 53.3% save percentage with eight saves on 15 shots faced to go along with two catches and punches each. He posted his only clean sheet in his Legion FC debut on June 19 against San Antonio FC, after just beginning his loan earlier that week.
The move coincides with Birmingham goalkeepers Van Oekel and Trevor Spangenberg both returning to training this week. Spangenberg will be available for selection when Legion FC hosts the Colorado Springs Switchbacks on Saturday, June 13.
Kick-off for that special Christmas in July match is set for 6:30 p.m. CDT and tickets can be purchased HERE.
