BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Birmingham Legion FC announced on Sunday that midfielder Roman Torres has been recalled from his loan and is returning to his parent club, Minnesota United FC.
Having joined Legion FC prior to the beginning of the 2025 USL Championship season in March, the 23-year-old saw immediate action, having appeared in all of the first 10 matches through May 14, including five starts. He provided an assist in Birmingham’s season opener against Loudoun United FC on March 8 and then another against Louisville City FC a week later on March 16. However, the second half of the campaign saw minutes hard to come by for Torres, who has appeared in just three matches for Legion FC since May 31. He now heads back to Minnesota after totaling 539 minutes for Birmingham.
Legion FC returns to action on Saturday, September 6 when it travels to face FC Tulsa. The squad then returns home on September 17 to take on the Tampa Bay Rowdies in a special Education Day match that kicks off at 11:30 a.m. (tickets)
