Defender Ben Reveno Joins Legion FC

2022 MLS SuperDraft Second Round pick acquired on loan from New England Revolution  

BIRMINGHAM, AL (March 3, 2023) – Birmingham Legion FC have added defender Ben Reveno on loan from Major League Soccer club New England Revolution, pending league and federation approval.

Reveno, 23, is in his second professional season after being drafted in the 2022 MLS SuperDraft by New England. The California native made his pro debut for the Revs last May, starting against fellow MLS side New York City FC in the US Open Cup, before spending the majority of the season with New England’s MLS Next Pro team.

“We’re excited to add Ben to our group,” said Jay Heaps, Legion FC President and General Manager. “He’s a talented, versatile player that will strengthen our team in multiple positions.”

Prior to being drafted, Reveno began his collegiate career at UC Irvine, where he played in 2017 and 2018, before transferring to UCLA from 2019-2021. While with the Bruins he made 49 appearances and earned a spot on the 2021 All-Far West Region Second Team. Growing up in San Jose, Reveno played for the Earthquakes academy for three years.

“I’m really excited to get going with this team,” said Reveno. “They are a great group of guys, and I think we can accomplish a lot together this season!”
