BIRMINGHAM, AL (Feb. 5, 2020) – Birmingham Legion FC takes on Major League Soccer’s Atlanta United FC this Saturday at 3:30pm CT at BBVA Field in downtown Birmingham.
Saturday’s events begin with the Fan Experience at Bessie Estell Park from 10am to 2pm. The UAB Men’s and Women’s soccer teams will lead a soccer skills clinic at 10am for kids aged 10 and under. A FIFA gaming truck will be on site for the event, as will multiple food trucks like the Dirty Red, Vintage Comfort, and Heavenly Donuts, among others. In addition, the Legion FC Supporter’s Group, the Magic City Brigade, will be in the park welcoming any and all tailgaters ahead of the game.
A live performance by the Billy Gant Band is set for 12pm. The group is a high energy, classic rock cover band that will hit all your favorites from the 80’s and 90’s, as well as today’s Top 40 hits.
Gates to BBVA Field will open at 2pm for fans to enter the Legion FC Plaza and enjoy access to drinks, concessions, Legion FC merchandise, and a wider array of food trucks, such as Wasabi Juans, Ruscelli’s, DM Zone, and Cheezin.
Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30pm, and it will be preceded by a coin toss by Birmingham Mayor Randall Woodfin and a National Anthem performance by singer Shelby Darrall.
