BIRMINGHAM, AL (Jan 30, 2019) — Birmingham Legion FC announced today that there will be a Fan Experience at Bessie Estell Park, brought to you by the Birmingham City Council and Parks and Recreation Board, on February 8 before the preseason game against Atlanta United. The event will take place from 10am to 2pm and will feature live music, food, games, and a free soccer clinic ahead of the match that kicks off at BBVA Field at 3:30pm.
“We look forward to this exciting event as a lead up to the one of the biggest soccer games in Birmingham history,” said Legion FC President and General Manager Jay Heaps. “We want to thank the City Council and Parks and Recreation Board for providing a fan experience that all of Birmingham can enjoy before the game.”
The Fan Experience will feature a live musical performance from the Billy Gant Band, a gaming truck that will allow fans to play FIFA, a soccer skills clinic for kids 10 and under, and food available from, among others, the Dirty Red, Vintage Comfort, and Heavenly Donuts food trucks.
"This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the strength of the sports community within Birmingham,” said City Council President William Parker. “This partnership is hopefully just one of many with Birmingham Legion FC."
Bessie Estell Park is located at 901 8th St S and is within walking distance of BBVA Field. The event is open to the public, and tickets to the Legion FC vs. Atlanta United game are available now at https://www.bhmlegion.com/tickets or by calling the Legion FC Ticket Office at 205-791-7145.
