Birmingham Legion FC battled to a 2-2 draw against Indy Eleven on Saturday night at Michael A. Carroll Stadium. After falling behind in the 20th minute, Legion responded through Tyler Pasher before taking the lead in the second half behind a goal from Romario Williams. Indy Eleven found a late equalizer in the eighth minute of stoppage time as the two sides split the points.
Indy Eleven opened the scoring in the 20th minute when Joe Hafferty found the back of the net to give the hosts an early 1-0 advantage. Legion continued to press and found its response in the 40th minute, with Tyler Pasher finishing off an assist from Gevork Diarbian to level the match heading into halftime.
Birmingham carried that momentum into the second half and took the lead in the 66th minute. Peter-Lee Vassell set up Romario Williams, who finished the opportunity to put Legion ahead 2-1. ” Tough way to give up a goal at the end of the game” Coach Heaps says ” but extreamly proud of the team effort and performance.”
Legion held the lead through the majority of the second half, but Indy Eleven found an equalizer in the 98th minute through Dylan Sing, bringing the match level at 2-2 and securing a point for each side.

· The result gives Legion a valuable road point as the club continues its push through the Eastern Conference playoff race.
Birmingham Legion FC returns home next Saturday, September 12, as the club welcomes fans back to Donovan Valley Fields for a special Hispanic Heritage Night.
After earning a point on the road against Indy Eleven, Legion will look to bring that momentum back to Birmingham and continue its push through the final stretch of the regular season. The night will celebrate Hispanic heritage and culture while bringing the Legion community together for an exciting night of soccer at home.
With the postseason race heating up, Legion will look to use home-field advantage to secure three important points in front of its home crowd.
