Birmingham Legion secure one of the most exciting attacking players in American Soccer: Serge Ngoma.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — Birmingham Legion FC have added one of the most exciting young attacking prospects in American soccer, announcing the loan signing of forward Serge Ngoma from Major League Soccer side New York Red Bulls.

At just 20 years old, Ngoma enters his fifth season as a professional, bringing top-flight experience and explosive attacking quality to the Legion’s front line. Capable of playing on the right wing, left wing, or centrally as a forward, the dynamic attacker adds pace, creativity, and unpredictability to Birmingham’s attack.

Ngoma arrives after logging more than 700 minutes in Major League Soccer during the 2025 season with the Red Bulls, gaining valuable experience against some of the league’s top defenders while continuing to emerge as one of MLS’s most promising young attackers.

A product of the Red Bulls’ renowned development system, Ngoma has built a reputation as a fearless 1-v-1 attackerwho thrives when isolating defenders. During the 2025 MLS campaign, he won 63% of his 1-v-1 duels, ranking 10th among all attackers in MLS, highlighting his ability to beat defenders and create attacking opportunities in dangerous areas.

His profile is defined by pace, intelligent movement, and a constant willingness to threaten the back line. Ngoma ranked in the top percentile in MLS for threatening runs behind the defense in 2025, making him a persistent danger for opposing backlines. Whether cutting inside from the wing, attacking defenders directly, or linking up with teammates in the final third, he provides Legion with a versatile and dynamic attacking option.
