Birmingham Legion FC battled to a 2-2 draw against the Charleston Battery on Saturday night at Dunnavant Valley Fields. After falling behind early, Legion responded with goals from Sebastian Tregarthen and Romario Williams to take a point against the Battery in front of the home crowd.
Legion struck first in the 11th minute when Sebastian Tregarthen found the back of the net to give Birmingham an early 1-0 advantage. Charleston responded quickly, with Miguel Berry scoring in the 14th minute before adding his second goal of the night in the 21st minute to put the Battery ahead 2-1.
Birmingham continued to battle and found its equalizer just before halftime. In the 39th minute, Tyler Pasher delivered the assist to Romario Williams, who finished the opportunity to level the match at 2-2.
Williams, who has now scored in each of Legion’s last two matches, credited the talent around him for making his job easier.
“I’m feeling good, I’m feeling great. I think with the pieces, the players, the talent around me, it makes my job easy.”
Legion head coach Jay Heaps praised the team’s response after going behind and pointed to Williams’ goal before halftime as a turning point.

Neither side was able to find a breakthrough in the second half, with Birmingham goalkeeper Jassem Koleilat making four saves to help Legion secure a point. Koleilat entered the match leading the USL Championship in saves and said his focus remains on helping the team collect results.
“I just tried to do my best to help the team to get us some wins going, and for me that’s the most important part.”
Legion is back in Dunnavant Valley Wednesday to take on New Mexico United
