“We tracked Moses throughout his time in college and are excited to add him to the roster,” said President and GM Jay Heaps. “He’s an attacking, left-sided defender that will complement the players we have along the backline.”
After featuring for the Ghanaian Under-18 National Team, Mensah racked up a number of accolades during a stellar collegiate career at Campbell University in Buies Creek, North Carolina, starting in 2019 when he was named Big South Freshman Player of the Year. He went on to start 72 of the 73 matches he played in while earning a spot on the All-Conference First Team four years in a row. The left back was also the first Campbell player in the University’s 60-year history to be named to the All-South Region teams four times.
For his efforts in helping lead the Camels to two NCAA College Cup berths and rack up five Big South trophies, Mensah was named to the 2022 Mac Hermann Trophy Watch List and then earned an invite to the 2023 MLS Combine, before being drafted in the third round of this year’s MLS SuperDraft by Real Salt Lake.
“I’m excited for the opportunity to play for Legion FC,” said Mensah. “I’m looking forward to playing with this team in the city of Birmingham, and I’m excited to help the team win games and achieve its goals this season.”
