Legion FC badge voted “Best in the League”

Crest blows away competition in United Soccer League sponsored poll

BIRMINGHAM, AL (August 10th, 2018) – Out of all 36 teams in the United Soccer League, the Birmingham Legion FC badge was voted league best, in a week-long poll released on the USL website. Legion FC won with just under 1,500 votes, nearly tripling the total accumulated by the second-place team, San Antonio FC, who finished with 594. Follow this link to see the full poll results.

“This poll result speaks to the excitement level around the club and fans of this league across the country acknowledging the quality displayed in our brand,” said Legion FC president and general manager Jay Heaps. “We feel like our crest is a perfect representation of the fan base and of this great city.”

Our name, Legion, is rooted in Birmingham’s history and proudly represents our city and its army of hard-working citizens and players.

Our shield pays homage to our unified attack on the pitch as well as the hearts of all those who wear the Legion name and colors with great pride. It represents our city’s shared history and the spirit of all who call Birmingham home.

Our three sparks, Passion, Pride, and Community, embody our fiery spirit and define our character.

Our colors are Molten Gold and Attack Black. Gold symbolizes our character and sportsmanship. Black represents our menace and the determination we embody.

Our symbols are the hammer and anvil. These symbols represent not only our past, but also our might and ability to bend opponents to our will. When we cheer Legion FC on to victory, in unison we shout, “Hammer Down!”
