Biggest Game Yet
Legion FC’s upcoming match with Saint Louis FC is arguably the biggest so far in this debut season. St. Louis is currently in 10th place in the USL Championship Eastern Conference, just one point behind Birmingham in ninth, and the Charleston Battery are not too far behind, just two points off Birmingham in 11th.
Coming away with a win at home will be crucial for Legion FC’s fight for a playoff spot, and with their upcoming opponent Saint Louis FC chomping at the bits, capturing all three points would be doubly important.
Sweet Home Alabama
The boys return home to take on St. Louis after a three-game road trip that saw them earn seven points out of a possible nine. The match on Friday, September 13, is Legion FC’s first match at BBVA Field since August 17 and just the second since July 27.
Birmingham is unbeaten in its last five matches at home, with the last four runouts in front of Legion Nation all resulting in a win. With such an important match coming up, having the support of a sellout home crowd will be massive for the black and gold.
Legion FC is unbeaten in its last nine games, having gone 7-0-2 over that stretch. Along the way, the boys have racked up seven shutouts, 17 goals, and 23 points.
Birmingham’s current streak is second only to Phoenix Rising FC’s 18-game win streak. This Friday’s match with Saint Louis FC gives Legion FC the opportunity to extend its unbeaten streak to 10 games and further their push for a spot in the postseason.
