BIRMINGHAM, AL. (March 7, 2019) – Birmingham Legion FC announced today the a new date and time for the franchise opener. In consideration of severe weather expected Saturday, the club will now host Bethlehem Steel FC on Sunday, March 10 at 4:00 pm CT. Gates to BBVA Compass Field will open at 2:00 pm for pre-game festivities, including music, interactive games and happy hour prices on food and drink.
“The safety of our fans and players are of paramount concern,” said Legion FC President and General Manager Jay Heaps. “Given tragic recent events, this is not a decision we take lightly and have factored information from the National Weather Service and local authorities. We remain anxious for the start of our inaugural season and look forward to Sunday!”
Tickets to Saturday’s originally scheduled match will be honored at the gate on Sunday. Those with a scheduling conflict should contact Legion FC at 205-600-4635 or e-mail email@example.com. Those wishing to buy tickets to Sunday’s re-scheduled date should visit bhmlegion.com. The match will still be televised locally on My68.
